Cataract
A cataract is a clouding of the eye's lens, which is normally clear. The lens takes place behind the iris and the pupil.
MOREBetween 1966 and 1973 he completed his medical studies at Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine and received his doctoral degree.
Between 1973 and 1977, he completed his eye specialty at Hacettepe University Medical School Hospital and received the title of specialist in eye diseases.
From 1978 to 1984 he worked with Prof. Holland in the Duisburg Academic Hospital of the University of Düsseldorf in Germany. This hospital he performed 6,000 eye surgeries. He then returned Turkey and he did bring the new treatments to his countery.
In 1983 he received the title of Associate Professor and in 1995 he became Professor Doctor. He performed more than 30,000 operations in total.
In 1996 he established the Turkey's first eye hospital (World Eye Hospital).
In 1998, the Ministry of Health was appointed him as Chief Physician and Eye Clinic Supervisor at Beyoglu Eye Training and Research Hospital. After retiring from this hospital he started to work in his private clinic at Istanbul. He performes surgeries in Liv Hospital, Acıbadem Maslak Hospital and Private Gaziosmanpasa Hospital.
